Because of the large postal charge increases of April 30th 2012, P&P charges have been increased to:
Single CDs below £10.00 in value: 25% Complete orders above £10.00 in value: 20%
This PayPal system is intended mainly for purchasers from abroad - UK customers will find the P&P charges rather high
and may prefer to buy by cheque, where we offer Free Delivery.
Credit/Debit card payments on the MT Records site are carried out using the
system employed worldwide by the well-known eBay Auctions. It has transacted many billions of pounds worth of business and appears to be trouble-free. (Check out their website for further details.) This is how the system works:
Beside each CD description on the site you will see the
icon. If you wish to buy this particular CD, just click this Add to Cart icon and a new window will appear listing the contents of the your Shopping Cart, including the item just added. To make the purchase, simply click 'Checkout' from this window, or return to the catalogue to add further items.
The
icon is displayed in the site header bar, so that you can check and/or alter the Cart contents at any time.
When you've completed your selection of CDs and moved to the 'Checkout', you will be asked for your Credit/Debit Card details, name and address, etc, and offered a 'Submit' button to conclude the purchase. If you already have a PayPal account you won't even have to enter any of those details.
Within seconds of completing your purchase I will receive an e-mail from PayPal telling me who you are, what you've bought and the address to which I should mail your purchases (as usual, I will do this within 24 hours of receiving the information, and I'll also e-mail you to tell you so.) The purchase price is then transferred from your credit card to my PayPal account, from which I will subsequently withdraw it - less the various charges * I incur from my use of the system.
However, please note that if you choose to use PayPal's eCheque option (rather than paying by Card, or by transfer from your PayPal account - which are both instant) I will have to wait for 7 to 9 working days for your eCheque payment to clear before I discpatch your CDs.
You are protected by all the usual Credit Card guarantees, plus the fact that I never see your Card details, and so could never debit your Card by any further sums. In the event of my having to give you a refund of the purchase price, the system works in reverse; debiting my account and crediting yours with the sum concerned.
To avoid confusion over the various currencies (£ Sterling, $ US Dollars, € Euros, etc) which might be tendered by purchasers, all the prices on the site are shown in British £ Sterling, and the conversions will be made automatically during the Card transaction process.
Because of the various system charges mentioned above *, plus the recent huge increase in UK postal charges, I can no longer include postage and packing costs in the Credit/Debit Card purchase price, as I do with cheque or cash purchases. Accordingly, Card purchases will have P&P added to the CD prices as follows:
But our overall inclusive prices will still be somewhat lower, I believe, than those on other websites selling this type of CD.
